Whitecaps Robotics Collaborative is excited to announce that we have officially registered with the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC), marking a major milestone on our journey to bring world-class STEM opportunities to youth across South Georgian Bay.

As part of our registration, Whitecaps has been assigned FRC Team #11911, a number that will represent our team as we compete, learn, and grow within the global FIRST community.

The FIRST Robotics Competition is one of the world’s leading youth STEM programs, challenging students to design, build, program, and operate industrial-sized robots while developing teamwork, leadership, project management, and communication skills. More than a robotics competition, FRC prepares students for future success by providing hands-on experiences that inspire confidence, creativity, and innovation.

Our team will make its competitive debut during the 2027 FIRST Robotics Competition season, which will feature the game theme BIOCORE℠. While the challenge itself will not be unveiled until Kickoff in January 2027, we are excited to begin recruiting students, mentors, and supporters who will help shape the foundation of Team 11911.

Participation in FRC aligns perfectly with Whitecaps Robotics Collaborative’s vision of inspiring the next wave of innovators, builders, and leaders. Through the design-build-test cycle of competitive robotics, students gain practical experience in engineering, programming, manufacturing, business, marketing, fundraising, and leadership—all while working as part of a collaborative team.

Over the coming months, we will focus on building our team, establishing partnerships, securing sponsors, and creating opportunities for local youth to become involved. Whether you are a student interested in robotics, a professional willing to mentor, or a community member looking to support STEM education, we invite you to join us as we launch Team 11911.

This is just the beginning of an exciting journey. We are proud to represent Collingwood and South Georgian Bay in the FIRST community and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.
